About Us

BuildingThe Humane Society of Greater Dayton is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded more than a century ago by a group of concerned citizens with a desire to ensure that "all animals will be wanted." Today the organization still operates with the purpose of building loving relationships between people and pets.

The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is supported by contributions from foundations, corporations and individuals, and relies on the time and support of its volunteer network.

Focused on pet adoption, education and the humane treatment of animals, the Humane Society of Greater Dayton develops and offers programs designed to educate the public on proper pet care, reduce pet overpopulation, eliminate cruelty to animals, and increase availability of and access to medical care for all pets.
