Special Needs Pets

 

Shiloh may be listed as "special needs," but he is just especially smart, loyal, handsome, and friendly! He came in our doors when his owner was moving to a new place where they could not take 5 year old lab mix Shiloh with them. He has so many great qualities! He knows how to sit, speak, shake, and come. This "smarty pants" would likely learn other commands or tricks easily. He keeps his kennel very clean and always waits until he is outside to relieve himself. He would not dare mess up his tidy kennel! He gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children. He came to us heartworm positive and had lived most of his life outdoors. We gave him the needed treatments for the disease. He will need to be retested in 6 months and will most likely test negative. He has been in a foster home and really enjoyed fetching tennis balls, brushings, and belly rubs! We think that this guy deserves so much more than he has ever had: a real comfy dog bed; his favorite treats(We found he loves anything chewy!); regular vet care; and as much time as he prefers INSIDE with his human friends.

Carlos is a big boy with a big heart!! He loves to be around people and purrs often. He is roughly 6.5 years old with a handsome white face that complements his long, buff body. He is a special guy indeed, as he came in as a stray with really bad ear infections. Upon closer examination, we found that he has growths in his ears that make him prone to chronic ear infections. He will need frequent, good ear cleanings by his new owner for likely the rest of his life. The cleanings, though, should really help his ears from getting infected. He is a very agreeable guy and would be happy to have his ears cleaned regularly if it means that he gets a good home of his own!! This guy is counting on someone to give him a chance!!
